THE WORKOUT

What is The Garage Chicago?

The Garage Chicago is where training meets purpose. We build lifelong athletes who lift heavier, move better, and chase performance that translates beyond the gym. Whether you’re getting strong in HEAVY AF, pushing limits in STRONG X, or dialing in your engine with HYBRID, every session is designed to build you up. Looking to try our classes? Or interested more in 1:1 coaching? Apply here for Personal Training.

What is The Apartment Chicago?

The Apartment is where resilience meets movement. It’s intensity with intention—where you sharpen control, reinforce strength, and level up your movement. Whether you’re turning up the heat in HOT AF, refining strength and flow in FLOW X, or dialing in movement patterns in ALIGN, every session is built to help you train harder and perform better. This isn’t recovery; it’s rebuilding. The space has medical-grade infrared heat and provides mats and towels, so all you need to do is show up for yourself.

What do I need to bring to The Garage or The Apartment workout?

Just yourself—we’ve got everything else covered. At The Apartment, we provide mats, yoga towels, and face towels so you can just focus on moving. At The Garage, we’ve got all the equipment you need—and the good vibes are built in. Both spaces have two bathrooms, and The Garage also has one shower. All we need is you to show up and get after it.

Will I be okay if I’m a beginner or not already in shape?

Yes. Every class is built to meet you where you’re at. Coaches will guide you through form, progressions, and modifications so you can train at your level and build from there. No beginner classes. Just classes for everyone. To make the most of your first class, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes early. Find out more about being a first-timer here.

Do I need to be a runner for HYBRID ATHLETE?

Nope. HYBRID is built for all levels. We mix running with conditioning tools like rowers, bikes, ski ergs, and assault treads—so you’ll build yourself up to be great at it all if you stay consistent. You’ll learn how to increase speed. Pro tip: We recommend hitting STRONG X and HEAVY AF a few times before diving into HYBRID. Build that strength base first—then come level up your engine.

How often should I train? Depends on your goals. We recommend 3-4 sessions a week for consistency, but stress management matters. Train hard, recover well, and build for the long run. Sleep, eat well, and listen to your body. Longevity over quick fixes.

How do you program? We program with intention. Our HEAVY AF program runs in 8-week cycles, focused on compound lifts to build strength and keep you progressing. Splitting days ensures you hit all movement patterns, prevent burnout, avoid injuries, and improve long-term.

BOOKING YOUR SPOT

Do I need to book ahead?

Yes. Book all classes in advance through our app.

Should I start at The Garage or The Apartment?

Up to you. Wherever you start, we suggest:

  • HEAVY AF @thegaragechi

  • FLOW X @theapartmentchi

  • STRONG X @thegaragechi

  • HOT AF @theapartmentchi

What is your Cancellation Policy

Cancel at least 12 hours before class to avoid a fee. Late cancellations (within 12 hours): $18 fee. No-shows: $35 fee. We just want you to show up.

How far in advance can I reserve my class?

We recommend booking a month out or at least a week ahead—classes fill fast. That said, if you’re flexible, you can usually grab a spot the day before during off-peak times. Real talk: We see the best success with athletes who commit to the same time and day each week. Consistency matters. Lock it in, show up, get better.

What if I’m there close to class start or late to class?

We get it—life happens. But here’s the deal: we need you here at least 5 minutes before class starts. Those last few minutes matter—we’re locking in the roster, getting athletes warmed up, and making space for anyone on the waitlist. Class starts on time. Always. If you’re late and your spot’s been given to someone else, no stress—you won’t lose your credit. If your spot’s still open, you can jump in—just check in quickly and respect the athletes already moving.

What is the wait list?

Lots of our classes sell out. If the class you want is sold out, you can get on our wait list. As athletes might cancel, you will be automatically added to the class in the order you signed up. If you signed up more than 6 hours before the scheduled start time of the class, we will notify you by email. If a spot doesn’t open by then, you still have a chance of getting in. Just arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts and once we have our no-show count we’ll start adding athletes from the wait list in order of sign ups—we’ll always do our best to get you in.

Can I move my class to a different day and time?

If you are outside the 12-hour cancellation window, you can always switch to another class that’s not already sold out. If you need to move your booking — but if there are less than 12 hours until your scheduled class — that’s considered a late cancellation, and the above policy would apply.

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW

We’re all about keeping things smooth, supportive, and stress-free. Here’s what you need to know:

What is your return policy?

All sales are final—no refunds on training or items on our merch. You can find all information regarding our return policy on the Terms & Conditions page here.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. Grab one for yourself or a friend.

What if I’m pregnant or just had a baby?

Yes! We highly recommend strength training during pregnancy or postpartum. As always, check in with your doctor first, listen to your body, and communicate with your coach—or self-modify as needed.

Can I bring my service animal or support animal into the studio?

We love them. However, due to heavy equipment and loud music, the environment may not be safe. Support animals are not allowed in the training area.

Can I bring my phone into class with me?

We get it—sometimes you need your phone. Just keep it respectful: No phone use during class. Need to take a call or text? Step into the lobby. Let’s keep the focus on training and the vibes strong.

Where to Put Your Stuff?

At The Garage, lockers are available BYOL—bring your own lock if you want extra security. At The Apartment, you’ll find coat hooks and benches. Feel free to bring your valuables inside class, but heads up—we are not responsible for lost or stolen items at any location.

How old do I have to be to come to The Garage Chicago?

14-15 years: Can train with a parent or guardian.
